Asset Management Steering Committee

The City of Powell River has developed an Asset Management Plan and Strategy. Council has appointed a select committee, the Asset Management Steering Committee (AMSC), to assist the City to make recommendations to Council regarding the implementation.

The role of the AMSC is to review the recommendations of the Project Team and address any issues which require direction pursuant to the Asset Management Project Outline adopted by Council. The AMSC will also provide recommendations and information to Council regarding Asset Management implementation.

General

  • The AMSC shall hold regular meetings in accordance with the City's Procedure Bylaw.

  • Agendas and minutes of the Committee meetings shall be posted in accordance with the City's Procedure Bylaw.

  • Committee meetings shall be open to the public unless notice is given to lawfully hold a meeting in camera in accordance with Section 90 of the Community Charter.

  • Council has designated the following members:

    • Chief Administrative Officer

    • City Councillor, Public Works and Infrastructure Portfolio

    • Director of Financial Services

    • Director of Infrastructure

  • City Council will, by resolution at a Council meeting, authorize all decisions required for the AMSC.

  • The AMSC will continue to fulfill their responsibilities until such time as Council dissolves the Committee.

  • The AMSC will appoint a chair and an alternate.
