Powell River Fire Rescue is a composite career, paid-on-call department with two Chief Officers, 15 International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Career Personnel consisting of: Coordinator/Public Educator and 14 Suppression Firefighters, as well as approximately 20 paid-on-call Auxiliary Firefighters.

Powell River has two fire stations. The main station, No.1 Fire Hall at 6965 Courtenay Street is the primary administration office and is manned 24 hours/seven days a week by career firefighters. The No. 2 Fire Hall at 6459 Sutherland Avenue, provides supplemental coverage for the Wildwood area with paid on-call fire fighters responding from Wildwood and career members responding from the No.1 Fire Hall.
