Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture
Are you a dedicated professional with an extensive background in parks and recreation? Are you passionate about how recreational and cultural opportunities can enrich one’s quality of life and enhance community spirit? If this sounds like you, we’d like you to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, you will be an integral member of our senior management team and will provide leadership to the Parks, Recreation and Culture department to operationalize strategic directives. You will oversee broad community participation and engagement to ensure recreational experiences foster individual and community wellbeing and ensure that local arts, culture and heritage resources are supported in meaningful ways. Additional responsibilities encompass budget management, report preparation, and contributing to a corporate culture that fosters high performance and continuous improvement.

Ideally, you hold a degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. You are a strategic thinker and gifted relationship-builder with at least eight years of related experience in a public sector unionized environment including three years in a supervisory role. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
