Did you know that City of Powell River residents produce about 450 kilograms (or 990 pounds) of solid waste per person per year? Currently, this waste gets shipped by barge to the Roosevelt Regional Landfill in the State of Washington. Reducing the amount of garbage we produce will lower our community’s environmental impact, conserve resources, and reduce our carbon emissions.
