Administration

Mission Statement:

  • To act as primary policy advisor to Council, staff and the citizens of Powell River.
  • To carry out the statutory functions of corporate administration as required by the Community Charter and the Local Government Act, in a professional manner.

Goals and Objectives:

  • To provide consistent administrative services to Council, staff and the citizens of the City of Powell River.
  • To direct the overall planning, coordination and control of all city operations in accordance with the objectives, policies and plans approved by Council.
  • To develop policies and procedures that will assist other departments in managing their areas of responsibility that will ensure the fiscal responsibility and integrity of the City.

Administration Staff 

Mac Fraser, Chief Administrative Officer - Contact the CAO

Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the administrative operations of the City;
  • Ensuring that the policies, programs and directions of Council are implemented;
  • Advising and informing Council on the operation and affairs of the City.

Chris Jackson, City Clerk - Contact the City Clerk

Responsibilities:

  • Administration Department Head
  • Carries out all responsibilities assigned to the Corporate Administrative Officer by the Community Charter
  • The management and control of the City's official documents
  • Legal issues
  • Designated as the City's head for the purpose of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Appointed as Chief Election Officer for City of Powell River elections

Administration Support Staff:

Executive Assistant

  • Executive Assistant to Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer and provides administrative assistance to City Councillors and senior staff as required.

Legislative Assistant

  • Provides administrative assistance to the City Clerk and the Administration Department.

Records Management Clerk

  • Assists in the development, operation and maintenance of the City of Powell River Records Management Plan and the District Records Centre.

Administration Office Clerk  

  • Provides clerical support to Administration and Bylaw Enforcement Division.
